As we've continued our series of articles on traveling in Japan alongside Snow Peak, weather using the locations for dining experiences from casual to Michelin rated. Using Snow Peak Japan to camp or stay in one of their Jyubako Tiny Homes. And visiting attractions like the Snow Peak Museum, their Land Station Hakuba nestled into the Japanese Alps, and their historic Land Station Kyoto Arashiyama, we continued to get asked questions about new spaces and hidden gems. While more articles about specific locations are on their way, the question we are asked most often is undoubtably,
"Where can I find the limited items?"
Unfortunately, it's not a straightforward answer and it's one that changes regularly. From our visits in October of 2023 to October 2024, pieces were swapped out, discontinued, and introduced. Because of that, we'll continue to come back to this article and update it.
We also would like to treat this as a call to arms. Have you been to a Snow Peak Japan location recently and looked at their limited and local goods? Leave a comment below so we continue to ensure we have the most accurate information.
A Primer On Limited Snow Peak Items in Japan
If you're already familiar with what Snow Peak offers in their home country you can skip over this part. If not, it can be helpful to understand more. Knowing what is offered and where can help plan your trip to Japan and skip over locations that may not have what you're looking for.
This article will break items down by their 'exclusivity' level. It's important to note that exclusivity is related to the product type, not the product itself. As an example, location specific Eco cups are available at every Snow Peak store. While the store name is exclusive to that location, it's a souvenir you can find in many different places.
Snow Peak Japan Limited Items are also available online, we won't cover those here as they do require a Japanese address and phone number to purchase and ship to.
A final note on Limited Items is that this will apply to Snow Peak Directly Managed stores only. What is a Directly Managed Store? While it may seem self-explanatory, it can be a little blurry once you're in the country. In short, this is a location owned and operated by Snow Peak that is its own retail door. There are locations owned and operated by Snow Peak inside of other locations, there are Shop-in-shop locations in stores such as Wild-1 and L-Breath, and there are individual retail door locations not run by Snow Peak called Snow Peak Store. These will occasionally receive special collaboration limited items, but it's not a sure thing.
Types of Snow Peak Stores in Japan
We'll cover four basic types of stores here, it's important to understand because as the store 'grows' in scale, so do the limited items it offers.
Snow Peak Directly Owned Store
These are the most basic stores that Snow Peak supports. You can find them inside of malls, or within larger shopping areas within the city. They're small in size, as well as offerings of both standard and limited product. Often focusing mostly on apparel and goods that can also be used at home. Some stores of this type in Tokyo include,
- Snow Peak Omotesando
- Snow Peak Lumine Shinjuku (Lumine is the name of the mall it resides in)
Snow Peak Land Station
We've talked about the Land Stations before in other articles, but these will be the flagship store for larger regions when a Campfield isn't present and offer food + other amenities. These locations include,
- Snow Peak Tokyo Land Station
- Snow Peak Kyoto Arashiyama Land Station
- Snow Peak Hakuba Land Station & Campfield
- Snow Peak Land Station & Campfield Akagi Park
Snow Peak Campfield
Like Snow Peak's Campfield in Long Beach Washington, these are campgrounds owned and operated by Snow Peak. While the specifics of each vary - you'll find the most consistently high amount of unique items in these spaces. Locations include,
- Snow Peak HQ1 Campfield, Niigata
- Snow Peak Campfield Tokachi Poroshiri, Hokkaido
- Snow Peak Campfield Minoh, Osaka
- Snow Peak Campfield, Kochi
- Snow Peak Campfield, Oita
- Snow Peak Campfield & Field Suite Spa, Kanuma
- Snow Peak Campfield, Rikuzentakata
Snow Peak Spa
Snow Peak Spa's are unique in that they are not an individual location, rather they are nested into Campfield locations as a 'separate' entity. Despite their limited local, they offer many Japan only Snow Peak products and limited items. To date, there are two located at,
- Snow Peak Field Suite Spa, Niigata
- Snow Peak Campfield & Field Suite Spa, Kanuma
Snow Peak Headquarters
There is only one Snow Peak Headquarters location open to the public in Japan at their HQ1 Campfield and Field Suite Spa. However, this means it also has the widest variety of limited Snow Peak items available for sale.
Now that you understand what the products are, how they're offered, and the types of locations Snow Peak carries Limited items at, let's get to the fun part.
Common Limited Snow Peak Items
These products can be found at most if not all Snow Peak Japan locations. If you're not after something specific, and instead simply want a piece to remember your trip by they make a fantastic easy-to-aquire and affordable memento. Because of this, we won't list specific locations for these items.
Eco Cup
The standard Snow Peak tchotchke, the stainless steel Eco Cup can be found everywhere. Not just for Snow Peak stores, but also variants for Snow Peak Eat, Spa, Restaraunts, Campfields, and the Museum.
Stickers
While not every location receives a sticker, most do, including all Land Stations, Campfields, Spas, and some regular stores. All Snow Peak Japan stickers are die-cut white vinyl and set to a single size of approximately 8" long.
Local Foods
While there are a few varieties of food that can be purchased under the Snow Peak label, the one that is most often seen is their Rice. Available in a few versions, it can be purchased either as the rice alone, or with a souvenir bandana wrapping it as a Furoshiki. Snow Peak's Sake in both white and black varieties is also available at most stores.
Uncommon Limited Snow Peak Items
Step up in stores to locations like the Land Station and Campfields and you will find these pieces. Not only will they be branded to the location, but they are often offered in limited colors that cannot be found anywhere else.
Campfield Sierra Cups
Available at all Campfields (including HQ1), these titanium Sierra Cups are anodized to a bright purple color and have a "Snow Peak Campfields" screenprint on the inside. There are no differences between each locations cup. These can be found at,
- Snow Peak HQ1 Campfield, Niigata
- Snow Peak Campfield Tokachi Poroshiri, Hokkaido
- Snow Peak Campfield Minoh, Osaka
- Snow Peak Campfield, Kochi
- Snow Peak Campfield, Oita
- Snow Peak Campfield & Field Suite Spa, Kanuma
- Snow Peak Campfield, Rikuzentakata
Tengui Towel
Available at some Snow Peak Locations are Tengui Towels with designs related to that region or store. Inventory of these is sparratoc, but unlike the Snow Peak US releases of Tengui, they are much more common.
Rare Limited Snow Peak Items
These products will be harder to find in that they will be located at a single type of store. Often that means going a bit off the beaten path to find them, or creating a Snow Peak Japan member account (which will require a Japanese address and phone number).
Land Station Limited Anodized Mugs, Sporks, Cups
Each Land Station location, in addition to select Snow Peak retail doors, carries a specific anodizing color. The color is specific to the location and can generally be purchased in one of eight items,
- Snow Peak Ti-Backpacker's Cup
- Snow Peak Titanium Spork
- Snow Peak Ti-Single 220ml Cup
- Snow Peak Ti-Single 300ml Cup
- Snow Peak Ti-Single 450ml Cup
- Snow Peak Ti-Double H200 Stacking Mug
- Snow Peak Ti-Double H300 Stacking Mug
- Snow Peak Ti-Double H450 Stacking Mug
Local Wear Apparel
The Local Wear apparel line was introduced in 2018 from former Snow Peak President Lisa Yamai. Inspired by traditional Japanese apparel, all products in this line are created in Snow Peak's hometown of Niigata Japan. While they can be purchased in many stores, quantities are limited, and designs change annually. Typically available at,
- Snow Peak Campfield Locations
- Snow Peak Land Station Locations
Very Rare Snow Peak Items
Field Suite Spa Product
Field Suite Spas carry their own peach color of the anodized mugs seen above, however as they are not as prevalent we've upgraded their rarity for the purposes of this article. However, those really take a backseat to the apparel, bags, and personal care items that each spa offers. Available at,
- Snow Peak Field Suite Spa, Niigata
- Snow Peak Campfield & Field Suite Spa, Kanuma
Relax Ware
This line includes pairs of garments intended to be worn pre and post-spa experience. Very baggy and lightweight, they're typically constructed from natural fibers.
Field Suite Spa Bag
Shaped like the famous carry bag for the Pack & Carry Takibi Fireplace from Snow Peak, this mesh version is designed to let damp clothing and towels breathe after your spa.
Whole Garment HQ1 Apparel
Some of Snow Peak's Whole Garment collection is only seen at their HQ1 location, where it is made on-site. Using a single piece of thread, the sweaters are woven using a 3D technique that allows for differences in weave structure, allowing for designs to be embedded into the final piece. While these pieces have been offered online before, the HQ1 location sells unique designs.
Fukuyama Apparel
Unlike other stores, the Fukuyama store has looked to local history to create Snow Peak items connected to those roots. While there are a number of smaller bags, the quintessential piece is the Fukuyama Denim Takibi vest. Modeled after the standard Snow Peak Takibi Vest, it is constructed from local denim in either a natural indigo dye, or white.
Fukuyama Free Forged Iron Griddle
Hand-forged in Fukuyama, each cast-iron griddle is unique. Available in two sizes, it quickly goes out of stock.
Firewood Carry Bag (Membership Required)
In matching fabric to the Takibi Fireplace Carrying Bags, this Firewood bag is only available at the HQ1 Campfield, and Rikuzentaka Campfield as of the time of this writing. A Snow Peak Japan membership is required to purchase.
Legendary Snow Peak Items
The best of the best. Not only will these be restricted to a single location, but they're often handmade and/or limited in how many are actually made. These will be the most volatile in terms of inventory availability, as well as seasonal rotation. In short, what a friend saw last month may not be there for your trip today.
Kaikado Seppou Copper Coffee Can
Kaikado was established a century-and-a-half ago by the Yagi family and has remained in their care through the duration. Known world-wide for their handcrafted airtight canisters, they feature an ever so slight bulge that will keep tea fresh for up to a year.
This smaller version is specifically designed for coffee. Holding two servings of beans, the lid doubles as a single serving measure. The Snow Peak Seppou wordmark is delicately stamped on the face, giving the recipient a warm introduction as the gift box is opened.
Produced in Kyōto, this piece is part of a series offered exclusively through Snow Peak Land Station Kyōto Arashiyama.
Asahi Yaki White Moon Single Flower Vase
The stoneware pottery is sliced vertically, creating form that brings to life basalt columns and the cooled lava that provides foundation to Japan while the exterior's blue glaze provides a natural flowing contrast to the otherwise rigid form.
Produced in Kyōto, this piece is part of a series offered exclusively through Snow Peak Land Station Kyōto Arashiyama and featured in their Jyubako.
Handmade Single Pole Bamboo Parasol
Crafted from a single piece of Bamboo, this parasol is the pinnacle of the Kyoto Arashiyama Land Station collection. Available in natural or black lacquer, it's one of the most expensive items in the collection we've shared here.
Snow Peak 2021 Red Wine
Released in the fall of 2024, this red wine had been aged for 3 years in Tokachi Poroshiri, the same region as Snow Peak's Hokkaido Campfield. Very limited in bottles produced, it was only offered at select locations around the country.
Snow Peak Shochu
Unlike the Red Wine, Snow Peak's series of Shochu and Sake saw a wider release. However, it was still limited, with one variety only appearing at a single location. Bottles are on the cheaper side at about $20, however it is selling fast.
Future Limited Releases
It's impossible to say what Snow Peak will offer in terms of limited Japan-only items in the future. But as we've shared, the range of products is greatly varied in terms of uniqueness, availability, connection to the local economy, and product type. Because of this, it makes for an incredibly fun hunt on your next trip to Japan to see what you can pick up.
Spotted something that we haven't mentioned here, be sure to leave a comment so we can add it to this list.
Just finished a Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka trip & picked up items not available stateside.
ASIA-EXCLUSIVE GEAR
- 6 eco-cups: caught these like they were Pokémon… and they nest into each other, so packing them isn’t too cumbersome
- 100% full stainless steel pro grill grate: I’ve had my takibi fireplace since 2017, so my OG grill is extremely warped & overdue for an upgrade
- Leaf blower: I thought this was a novel, frivolous item until I spoke with Snow Peakers from SPW East last year… prior to packing, blowing off the morning dew lengthens the lifespan of your tent & tarps!
- Snow Peak walking towels: Different than the seasonal tenugui towels in the article, these are only available at SP Land Stations! (Tokyo LS was sold out, but I picked up all 3 colors in Kyoto)
