KōROGI is pleased to announce the U.S. debut of Haku Mt. Supply, an Osaka-based manufacturer known for its denim craftsmanship and contemporary approach to indigo. With the launch of its Gunjō line, the brand brings traditional dyeing and weaving techniques to the world of outdoor recreation—beginning with the HK-M500 Gunjō Tarp.

About Haku Mt. Supply

Founded in Osaka, Haku Mt. Supply (白の輪廓 / Haku no Rinku) draws from Japan’s long heritage of textile making. The studio’s work explores the evolving relationship between natural materials and human use—how fibers fade, soften, and record time. “Gunjō,” Japanese for ultramarine, embodies this philosophy: a study of indigo as both a living color and a reflection of the outdoors.

The Gunjō Concept

The idea for Gunjō began with a single piece of vintage indigo cloth—its gradient of faded blues inspiring a desire to create something meant for life outdoors. From that spark grew an ongoing pursuit: to reproduce the depth of indigo’s hue in materials durable enough for camp use, yet soft enough to carry the warmth of the hand. Each piece invites the user to accept wear as part of its beauty, echoing how jeans, knives, and cookware gain character over time.

HK-M500 Gunjō Tarp

The first product to arrive in the U.S. is the HK-M500 Gunjō Tarp, a handmade 10 × 10 ft rectangular shelter. Constructed from Cotton-Nylon Indigo Tent Cloth, the fabric combines indigo-dyed cotton warp threads with high-strength nylon filament weft. The result is a balance of traditional tone and modern performance—lightweight, fire-resistant, and weatherproof.

To achieve its color, the cotton warp threads are dyed using rope dyeing, a method shared with denim production. Each thread retains a white core, allowing the surface color to gradually break down and reveal contrast with age. The weaving is done on a Jacquard loom at low speed, using rare equipment capable of handling indigo. The process yields a deep, vivid blue unique to this production.

A Philosophy of Change

Haku Mt. Supply’s Gunjō line is made for those who see beauty in imperfection. Over years of exposure to sun, smoke, and weather, the tarp will fade and evolve—each shade of blue telling its own story. The brand describes this as “raising your tool,” a process of shared life between maker, user, and material.

The Haku Mt. Supply Gunjō collection will be available exclusively through KōROGI beginning this holiday season.
