The 38-kT The Skeleton takes the familiar MIYABI lantern and transforms it with a transparent body. By simply exposing the inner plastic and reflector, the design feels strikingly different—light penetrates deeper into the bulb, softly illuminating areas usually lost in shadow.

Compact at 4" tall and weighing just 3.5oz (with 3200 mAh battery), it emits a steady 200 lumens while masking its light source to prevent glare. The touch-sensor cycles Low → High → Off, with smooth dimming on hold. No strobe, no excess—just clean light.

The clear body also reveals the charging indicator, letting you see battery status at a glance as it shifts through its states. Together with the brass-colored components, it gives the lantern a playful, elevated look compared to the original.

Water-resistant to everyday use (not submersible) and rechargeable via Type-C (5 V/0.5 A), it offers up to 9 hours of runtime in High mode before tapering into battery-protect mode. The standard 18650 battery is user-replaceable, and the modular design allows lens swaps or future repairs. With ¼” camera screws at both top and bottom, it mounts to tripods, ZEROPOD38, or even your vehicle setup.

38Explore FAQ

The 38-kT MIYABI does not support quick charging. It accepts only up to 5V / 0.5A. If used with a quick charger, it will block the input to protect the battery. Check that your cable and power source meet this requirement.

Roughly 6 to 7 hours using a standard USB cable. High-resistance cables or non-standard setups may result in slower charging or incomplete charge (green light may continue blinking).

The 38-kT MIYABI uses a static touch switch. If your hands are dry, the switch may not register. Lightly moistening your fingertip can help.

Like a phone or computer, the 38-kT has internal circuitry that can occasionally bug. If this happens, remove and reinsert the battery to reset it.

The indicator light displays how much of your battery life is remaining.
