Snow Peak Way '94 Jacket

Prior to the first public Snow Peak Way in 1998, Snow Peak Way was an opportunity for Snow Peak retailers and staff to connect and discuss sales strategy. But by 1998, as Snow Peak sales were in decline, Osaka marketing managers Yamaguchi Masahiro and Takai Fumihiro met with Tohru and pitched him, "Let's hold a camping event where we can meet our customers face-to-face and hear their honest opinions."

This Jacket pre-dates that conversation by four years, from an era when Snow Peak Way was vastly different from what we know today.

Promotional Goods

This style of jacket with a thin nylon material, sized 'free' and with nothing more than a simple zipper and pockets for features was a staple of promotional items in 1990s Japan. Often with the same screen print locations in a single color, these were intended to be given away to anyone who would take them, and the 'free'/one-size-fits-all cut reinforces that.
