Slow Japan (The Sloth Club) Wabuki Chopsticks

One of two variants from Slow Japan or The Sloth Club, a non-profit group founded in 1999 that, this edition of Snow Peak's Wabuki chopsticks is one of the few branded editions that exist. Slow Japan's focus is to reduce the fast-paced speed and lifestyle of Japan,

"Slow can be understood to mean alternative, sustainable, ecological, local, and happy. Slow means “to connect”.  Connection between people and people, people and nature, north and south, right and left, urban and rural, and more."

The Sloth design is intended to drive home a core concept of the Sloth Club,

"There have been many global campaigns to ‘Save the Whales’ or ‘Save the Elephants’, but the core of the Sloth Club concept is to actually ‘become’ a sloth. The aim is to emulate some of the basic behaviors of the sloth in order to find a way to live in harmony with the earth."

We suggest the modern Snow Peak Wabuki Chopsticks as an alternative.

Slow is Beautiful

Turning each chopstick around on its face will show what makes this truly unique, The Sloth Club's slogan "Slow Is Beautiful" laser etched in to the handle. Titled after Sloth Club co-founder, Shinichi Tsuji's 2001 book, "Slow can mean alternative, sustainable, ecological, local, and happy. Slow is to connect."
