Built on years of innovation and experience in tent design, Muraco created the NORM as an update to the standard dome tent architecture. Crafted for balance across livability, wind resistance, weight, and ease of setup, its external frame structure allows the rain fly to be used as a standalone shelter.

With flat pole sleeves to enhance draining, snow shedding, and improve wind resistance, it allows for comfort in any weather. Dual entrances and the front and rear make access easy, even when using the vestibule for storage or relaxing while sheltered from weather.

The flysheet is made from 40D ripstop nylon with a water-repellent and PU coating rated to 1,500mm of water pressure. The inner tent floor uses 68D polyester taffeta with the same coatings, increasing durability and water resistance to 3,000mm. The frame is built from Muraco’s proprietary FLEXLIGHT poles, made from A7001 aluminum alloy for a strong yet lightweight structure.

Robust Dome Structure

NORM uses a dome structure—recognized as one of the most stable tent designs. With five pole cross points, the frame offers increased rigidity, helping to shield the interior from wind and rain while maintaining a spacious living area.

Doubles As A Shelter

NORM can also be used as a standalone shelter with just the flysheet. In hot conditions, it allows for open-air sleeping on a cot without the inner tent. The inner tent is a suspended design, attached with buckles, and can be set up under the flysheet without exposure to rain.

Flat Pole Sleeves

The pole sleeves are integrated into the flysheet to sit flush with its surface when the poles are inserted. This design enhances the wind-resistant profile of the dome structure, helping it deflect strong gusts while also improving drainage and snow shedding.

Habitability

NORM includes front and rear entrances for flexible access. The rear zipper can be opened while seated, avoiding the need to move stored items. The inner door stows easily into a built-in pocket.

A New Standard, Six Years in the Making

Muraco began developing NORM in the summer of 2020, aiming to create a tent that reflects the brand’s core design philosophy. Initially intended as an addition to the existing lineup, it ultimately became the successor to the long-standing BLACK BEAK series—Muraco’s original standard model. Since its founding in 2016, Muraco has released seven tent models, shaped by years of customer, retailer, and staff feedback. Now in its sixth year, the brand introduces NORM as the next evolution in its tent architecture.

Low Profile, High Stability

NORM’s overall silhouette is kept intentionally low, with a grounded form that emphasizes stability and structural integrity. Each of the four pole heights was carefully adjusted through multiple iterations to achieve a balanced, cohesive shape when viewed from any angle.

Designed Around Real Use

Every detail of NORM was developed with practical use in mind. The vestibule is angled forward to create just enough space for essential gear at night, while a dedicated rear entrance allows for easy entry and exit without disturbing stored items. The rear zipper is positioned for smooth operation and can be opened or closed in a single motion, even while seated inside the tent.
