Mt. Tanigawa Woven Blanket

Crafted as a limited release for the 2024 exhibit, 'The Way of Snow Peak' at Blank Gallery in New South Wales, Australia, and designed by Chris Yee, this woven throw blanket prominently features a depiction of Mt. Tanigawa at its center. Framing the steep peaks is a tessellated, interlocking motif with repeated floral forms, inspired by traditional Japanese asanoha. The Way of Snow Peak was temporary exhibition from September 13 - December 2, celebrating the tradition of lifestyle innovation and showcasing the rich evolution of outdoor design over sixty-five years in the making.

    The Hemp Leaf Pattern

Asanoha is a traditional Japanese geometric design of repeating hexagons resembling hemp leaves. Symbolizing growth and resilience, it has been used in textiles and art for centuries, blending cultural heritage with timeless elegance.

    From Yukio's Eyes

This photo of Mt. Tanigawa has been featured in Snow Peak exhibits, catalogs, and presentations for years as one of the few photos on record captured by Yuikio Yamai, the founder of Snow Peak. Showcasing the steep cliffside of Tanigawa, the allure of its cold summit presented boldly in this blanket.
