Why a Lost Arrow?

During the 1947 climb of the Lost Arrow Spire in Yosemite National Park, climbers Salathé and Nelson utilized the forged thin-blade design to hammer in to the hard granite stone of Yosemite without buckling. Their usage in the park earned them the namesake of the spire they helped ascend.

Pointed Eyelet

While most older pitons are nearly identical in form factor and design, subtle differences can tip off what brand produced each piece. In Snow Peak's case, most pitons from this era featured a slight point to the upper tip of their eyelet.
