Hunting & Sporting Knife

An early knife dating to the 1960s, prior to the first mountain logo appearing but post the trademarking of Snow Peak. One of the earliest pieces in the collection.

We recommend the Field Kitchen Knife Santoku as a modern replacement.

No Logo

As white-label products continued to be offered, branding options were gradually scaled down. As evidenced by cookware and hardware of this era, Snow Peak packaging was typically the only thing that would distinguish it from an identical product on the next shelf.

A New Logo

Snow Peak logo usage is consistent at a macro level, inconsistent at the micro level. This 'SP' wordmark only appears on this knife packaging within Kōrogi's Snow Peak Archive.

A Cheaper Build

As Snow Peak sales faltered in the late 70s and early 80s, white label products saw a reduction in quality. While the overall form, design and accessories of this knife are similar to the 1960s version, the metal, wood and leather quality is not as high.
