Camping Moon's Extension Fire Starter Torch solves this problem. With a 2.2' built-in hose that has your adjustment valve right on the gas canister, you're no longer trying to dial the flame as it's inches from your hand. And by separating the two, your fuel canister will always be in the correct orientation for optimal burn.

But it doesn't stop there. Extending to nearly 20", you can bury the head deep into your firewood ensuring the smooth flame is working from the bottom up to actually get the fire or charcoal going. Or, if you're so inclined, place it at the bottom of a small firepit with lava rock to have a mini gas-powered campfire.
